GlobalGiving Rep Visits Umoja Project

Isabelle participated in the Girls Empowerment Team of Umoja Project (GET UP).

The Umoja Project welcomed Isabelle Hall, Field Traveler for GlobalGiving, who visited Kenya in May. Several Umoja Project programs are featured on GlobalGiving, an international charitable giving platform.

“I was thrilled to meet Leonard and the greater Umoja team,” says Isabelle. “I thoroughly enjoyed participating in their GET UP program, and observing the BET UP program as well. It was such a pleasure to hear from beneficiaries, volunteers, and staff. All were very friendly, passionate, and evidently driven to take Umoja’s impact to the next level.”

Isabelle spent time with our staff and students  and participated in our girls and boys empowerment programs.

In her report to GlobalGiving she writes, “Umoja has designed unique and sophisticated empowerment programs for both girls and boys, with practical learning approaches that have had demonstrated success.”

GlobalGiving sends representatives to visit project partners to see how funds are being used to benefit local communities, which helps maintain the high quality of GlobalGiving projects.

We are honored to be part of GlobalGiving!
